A craving for the classics will send Athenians to Hodgson Concert Hall for a taste of David Finckel and Wu Han.
The Grammy Award-winning cellist, Finckel, and pianist wife, Han, will fill the theatre with the sounds of Schubert, Strauss, Rachmaninoff and Grieg.
“The fact that David Finckel and Wu Han are husband and wife adds an extra dimension to their musical collaboration,” said Bobby Tyler, the media relations director of the University’s Office of Performing Arts.

“It is not often that we get the chance to see a married couple of this caliber perform here in Athens,” he said. “They are very passionate about their music and each other, and that comes across in their performances.”
In addition to producing, the couple also founded ArtistLed, the first Internet-based recording company directed by musicians.
Among Finckel and Han’s accolades is acting as the artistic directors of the Chamber of Music Society of New York’s Lincoln Center in 2004 for their immense contributions to the field of chamber music and their artistic capabilities.
They also founded and directed Music@Menlo, a chamber music festival in Silicon Valley, which has acquired international acclaim since it started in 2003.
The couple now lives in New York with their daughter, Lilian.
There will be a pre-concert lecture given by Chris Johns, a graduate student in cello performance at the University. The lecture begins 45 minutes prior to the concert and is free and open to the public.
