A female University student attempted to kill herself Friday in Brumby Hall, according to a University police report.

The student told police she planned to use a two-and-a-half inch Swiss Army knife, borrowed from her boyfriend, to commit suicide but did not cut herself.

According to the police report, the police officer did not “observe any cuts or lacerations on her.”

The responding officer reported the knife was lying open in the middle of the dorm room floor.

The woman was taken to Athens Regional Medical Center for further medical attention.
