The following unrelated incidences were reported by the Athens-Clarke County police department:
Several entering autos occurred at The Verandas on 239 Ruth Street between 6:45 a.m. and 8 a.m. on Sept. 16. Tim Antonov reported the rear driver side window broken on his vehicle. The car doors remained locked and no items were stolen, Antonov said he thought this occurred because his car alarm scared the burglar away at 7 a.m. Garrett Ward reported a $150 CD player stolen from his unlocked vehicle. Casey McKenna reported a $150 iPod and a $600 CD player stolen from her unlocked vehicle. Stanley Hoover reported a $250 CD player and $150 iPod stolen from his vehicle. His keys were stolen from the glove compartment of a nearby car that was broken into.
An entering auto occurred at Athens Paint and Body at 2425 Lexington Road between 11 p.m. on Sept. 15 and 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 16. Michelle Warmuth said her vehicle was towed the evening before, and the next day several items were missing. She reported two $175 cell phones, a $400 video iPod, a $25 iPod charger, a $25 phone charger, a $40 cooler and a car radio stolen.
A moped was stolen from the football practice field on Rutherford Street between 11:15 a.m. on Sept. 14 and 8 p.m. on Sept. 16. David Paul Thomas said his moped ran out of gas, and when he returned two days later it was not there. The red 2007 Qiangjang is valued at $1,300.
Criminal trespass to property occurred at University Gardens on 125 Baxter Drive between 7 p.m. on Sept. 16 and 8:45 a.m. on Sept. 17. John Crooms said someone made a horizontal cut in his plastic window just above the door frame to gain access to his Jeep. No items were missing. The damage is valued at $200.
John Buchanan, 18, was arrested and charged with urinating in public and underage possession of alcohol at the construction site next to Red Lobster on 1956 West Broad Street at 2:40 a.m. on Sept. 18. He was stopped by an officer for urinating on a bush and stated he had been drinking in a downtown Athens bar.
The following unrelated incidences were reported by the UGA police department:
A criminal trespass occurred at Creswell Hall between 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 13 and 7:48 a.m. on Sept. 14. A window was broken.
Maria Nicole Rizzi was arrested and charged with no headlights and driving with a suspended license at Broad and Lumpkin streets at 1:53 a.m. on Sept. 15.
Rebecca Bauer was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and no headlights on Oconee Street at 4 a.m. on Sept. 15.
Abhisher Udupa Achar was arrested and charged with possession of a fake ID and no headlights at Thomas and Baldwin streets at 1:10 a.m. on Sept. 16.
David Alexander Patillo was arrested and charged with driving under the influence on alcohol and failure to maintain lane on College Station Road at 2:20 a.m. on Sept. 16.
Christina Grant was arrested and charged with underage possession of alcohol in North Deck at 2:23 a.m. on Sept. 16.
David Pfingstag was arrested and charged with underage possession of alcohol and possession of marijuana in Creswell Hall at 4:30 a.m. on Sept. 16. David Miller was arrested and charged with possession of a fake ID.
Alexander West Speight, 19, was arrested and charged with possession of ID without consent and underage possession of alcohol at the Sigma Chi Lot at 2:20 a.m. on Sept. 18.
The following unrelated arrests were reported in the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office booking log:
Teresa Faust Smith, 51, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and serious injury by vehicle. She was booked at 9 a.m. on Sept. 17. Smith is the event coordinator for the dean and director’s office of agriculture.
