The following unrelated incidents were reported by the Athens-Clarke County police department:

A burglary occurred at Cross Creek on 610 Riverbend Parkway between 9:33 p.m. on Nov. 13 and 12:30 a.m. on Nov. 14. Ligden Alagoz and Celil Ekiei reported a $900 laptop and $1100 laptop stolen. The back door had been forced open.

A theft occurred at 410 Springdale Street between 4 p.m. on Nov. 10 and 7:20 p.m. on Nov. 13. Sarah Hovis reported a $50 pouch, $500 pearl cross, $500 gold chain, $100 earrings, $800 dress, $200 ring, $150 necklace, $142 bag and $95 dress stolen. She named a suspect.

A vehicle was stolen from Waddell Street between 3 p.m. on Nov. 7 and 2 p.m. on Nov. 12. Adam Tant said he usually parks his red 2002 Ford Ranger on the road.

A burglary occurred on 131 Burgundy Court between 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 12 and 6:30 a.m. on Nov. 13. Regina Dillard said someone entered her house, took a wallet, ransacked drawers and took credit cards and debit cards with the wallet.

The following unrelated incidents were reported by the UGA police department:

A battery occurred at the Ramsey Center at 7:13 p.m. on Nov. 13. A male student said he was punched in the face by a person he didn’t know.

A violation of the Georgia Controlled Substance Act was reported at East Campus Village at 10:04 p.m. on Nov. 13. The smell of marijuana smoke reported.

Daniel Bowden, 21, and Judith Heithem, 23, were arrested and charged with felony theft by taking around 7 p.m. on Nov. 14. Warrants were issued for Valerie Lynn Borchert, who was charged with obstruction and felony party to a crime of theft by taking. The charges against Valerie Lynn Borchert were later dismissed by District Attorney Kenneth Mauldin on Dec. 13, 2008 because evidence did not indicate she was involved or had knowledge of the theft. The arrests stemmed from an incident between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Sept. 28 when a $615 parking boot was stolen from the Thomas Street Art Complex lot. T

Lauren Nicole Copenhaven, 20, was arrested and charged with underage possession of alcohol on Lumpkin Street at 2:12 a.m. on Nov. 15.

A theft occurred at the Auxiliary Services Warehouse between 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 8 and 6:30 a.m. on Nov. 9. A visitor reported a $4,000 trailer containing 78 computer desks ($11,700 in total) stolen.

Financial transaction card theft occurred at Park Hall between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Nov. 20. A female student reported her credit card stolen and later used to make unauthorized purchases.

A simple battery occurred at the Georgia Center at 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 13. A male visitor said a person he didn’t know struck him in the mouth four times.

The following unrelated arrests were reported in the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office booking log:

Sara Lyndsey Chewning, 23, was arrested and charged with stop and yield to signs and suspended license. She was booked at 11:40 p.m. on Nov. 13.

Vanessa Ann Jackson, 19, was arrested and charged with probation violation under the Municipal Court. She was booked at 1:23 p.m. on Nov. 13.

Allyson Anne Wright, 21, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. She was booked at 6:06 p.m. on Nov. 13.

Terry Joseph Kinser, 20, was arrested and charged with one way on a roadway and driving under the influence of alcohol. He was booked at 3:34 a.m. on Nov. 15.

Megan Elizabeth Hughes, 21, was arrested and charged with operation of an unregistered vehicle and driving under the influence of alcohol. She was booked at 1:11 a.m. on Nov. 15.
