 Ramsey Lecture: Physical Inactivity: The Biggest Public Health Problem of the 21st Century. Sponsored by the Department of Kinesiology. Steven Blair, professor of exercise science and epidemiology and biostatistics at the Arnold School of Public Health, University of South Carolina, addresses the public health risk of physical inactivity and societal, environmental and individual approaches to increasing physical activity. 4 p.m. Master’s Hall, Georgia Center for Continuing Education.  American Red Cross Adult CPR with AED Certification. Sponsored by RecSports. This class provides the knowledge and skills to recognize and provide basic care for breathing emergencies, perform CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator for adult victims of sudden cardiac arrest. $25 students, faculty, and staff; $35

 American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification. Sponsored by RecSports. A thirty-hour course to train instructor candidates to teach the American Red Cross Water Safety classes. Prerequisites apply. $100 students, faculty, and staff; $110 for alumni. Cost includes manual. Classes meet Monday to Friday through April 18. 6 to 10 p.m.

 Panel Discussion: The Future of Student Housing. Sponsored by the University Relations Committee of the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce. Speakers include Charles Perry, president of Ambling University Development Group, and Gerry Kowalski, head of student housing at the University, and a panel of students.
