Many frustrated students viewed this screen when they tried to purchase their football tickets through the Georgiadogs website.

“There are no events or items on sale at this time.”

This message greeted some students Wednesday when they tried to purchase football tickets. Others were told their student accounts were inactive, and some could not reach the ticket registration page at all.

“I sat (in the Student Learning Center) for maybe 45 minutes straight,” Kahra Manji, a senior from Gainesville, said while she waited at the athletic ticket office Wednesday afternoon.

Fifteen minutes before the ticket office was scheduled to close, seven other students waited with Manji, all there to resolve registration issues.

The ticket office sent students an e-mail Tuesday afternoon with a link to purchase tickets, Wendy Whittington, assistant ticket manager said.

“The only real problem we’ve had were with people using the same computer and not logging off,” Whittington said.

Students should purchase tickets through the e-mail link, she said. But some said the link was not the problem.

“I tried to use my student ID number, but (the site) said it was inactive,” Tom Lanier, a graduate student from Douglas, said. Lanier later verified his account at the Tate student center.

The ticket office will not send another e-mail with registration information, Whittington said. The next e-mail will include ticket packages for those able to register by noon today.
