Modern Skirts will play an acoustic set from Catalogue of Generous Men for free at the Wray-Nicholson House tonight.

The band is featured by the Student Alumni Association as part of the group’s Welcome Back Party.

All students are welcome, and association members are invited to a VIP party, which includes free food from Willy’s Mexicana Grill and a meet and greet session with Modern Skirts. Willy’s will give away free T-shirts and koozies at the event.

“This is a good way to … let people know that SAA does these types of events,” said Alan Goodno, a junior from Savannah and the group’s vice president. “We want more people to get involved.”

He said members are excited to start the semester and the welcome-back event.

“Modern Skirts has already made a name for themselves here in Athens,” Goodno said. “They opened up for R.E.M. this past summer.”

Christie Haynes, a senior from Marietta and SAA president, said she wants students to join the organization.

“It’s a great organization to be a part of,” she said. “You receive so many benefits without giving up much of your time.”

Haynes added that being involved in the association is a way to start a personal tradition of involvement at the University before graduation hits.
