Start sweating. Just because last call is at 2 a.m. doesn’t mean the party’s over. Here is a guide to Athens’ growing scene of late-night, no-shoes-required, all moves-accepted celebrations.

- Baller’s Ball

The performers and DJs at Baller’s Ball change every event, but a few elements remain the same: electronic beats, heavy bass, looping tracks and lots of lights and fog. Coordinated by Music Matters Productions, a local theater sound and lighting company, the show has past presented Eliot Lip and Pnuma Trio, who is currently touring with STS9.

The next Baller’s Ball, the fifth to date, is presenting Conspirator, Allen Aucoin and EOTO at the Georgia Theatre, staples of jam band music festivals.

Allen Aucoin of Columbus is the drummer for the Disco Biscuits. EOTO consists of members of former jam band String Cheese Incident. EOTO is a strictly improvisational concert, with no pre-recorded sounds or rehearsal. The electronica concerts have a party atmosphere, and encourage dressing up.

“Housedog Party Favor,” Disco Biscuits

Where: Georgia Theatre
When: Oct. 22 at 10 p.m.

- Immuzikation

Immuzikation is the title of DJ Alfredo, a local music maker who’s become an Internet download sensation. Featured on the blogs of The Washington Post, NY Times Magazine, and Kanye West, DJ Alfredo has made hits by meshing Baltimore beats, electronica and anything else that strikes his ear with well-known hip-hop, dance and pop songs. The key to a hit dance party? DJ Alfredo says short shorts and Madonna night themes.

“Its a 50/50 boy girl ratio. Dancing usually keeps away the (lame) people,” he said. He also makes the music in sync to what bar members want to listen to.

“I take a lot of requests, more than most, and no breaks. It’s not appropriate to have breaks.” He’s also a member of Velveteen Pink, which plays in October with RJD2. Look for him at 283 Bar where he is a regular.

Previous albums have catapulted to success as the native from Oregon makes music with a feel like Ratatat. Connoisseurs of the dance floor are making this show their priority. He will play along with Velveteen Pink and Deaf Judges at the Georgia Theatre, and the hype for the show is building for this rare tour date for those who enjoy electronica, experimental and dance music.

- Black Dominoes

Kellen Crosby is a University alum whose name will ring a bell if you’ve ever gone to a Striped Socks party. Since then, Black Dominoes has taken its act to Atlanta, but is coming into town Homecoming weekend for a Striped Socks party at Go Bar.

“Most (Athens) shows finish up at midnight or 1 a.m., so for an hour or so downtown is filled with concertgoers walking around with a buzz and looking for more entertainment,” Crosby said.

“It’s the best time to be DJing somewhere in the area.”

Crosby’s take-off remix was his first: Vampire Weekend’s “Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa” which aired on NPR and the BBC.

The show also features Immuzikation, who, according to Crosby, “has been killing the crowd with standards.” The live mix the two played on Sept. 20 at Go Bar is available online and has their full set list.

Some tracks have a Kid Rock sound, others have a jazz infused electronic jam. Expect the show to be eclectic variety with a backbone of strong beats and brass. If you miss the Athens show, Galactic plays again in Atlanta.
