Christopher "Fogell" "McLovin" Mintz-Plasse oversees a hotdog eating contest at Delta Sigma Phi to promote his new movie "Role Models" on Tuesday.

Red & Black writer Courtney Smith got to talk with Christopher “Fogell” “McLovin” Mintz-Plasse during his visit on campus Tuesday:

Q: So how does it make you feel when people call you McLovin?

A: You know I was surprised because I didn’t get it at all over here and it was really quite nice. You know I get it other places and when I arrived here I was expecting a lot of it; but, you know, I have only been called McLovin here once.

Q: Does it normally bother you when that happens?

A: No, No, I take it as a compliment and it means they really enjoyed the character and they loved the movie. That’s my only movie out but when I get others coming out people will know my real name.

Q: So what is your new movie “Role Models” about?

A: There are two energy drink salesmen and they get into some crazy trouble and have to do community service and they go to a Big Brother benefit where you have to mentor kids without fathers. That is where me and Bobb’e J. come in and at first they don’t like us. But, as the movie goes on there is a happy ending and tears come.

Q: What kind of person is your character?

A: He is very awkward and doesn’t have any friends except when he goes to battle at Lair, which is a live action interacting role playing thing. They play with swords and stuff and that is kind of his world. But, in the real world no one really likes him.

Q: What did you think about the hotdog eating contest that you emceed?

A: I really felt bad for those guys, every single person who was in that contest.

Q: So, what are you working on now?

A: I am working on a movie called “Kick Ass.” It is based off a comic book written by Mark Miller and Nicolas cage is starring in it and so am I. It is going to be really good. It is going to be really bloody. There is also going to be some comic book art in it with crazy action, a bloody comedy movie.

Q: Why did you choose to do “Role Models”?

A: I really like David Wain and “Wet Hot American Summer” and I really liked the “Role Models” script, so.

Q: Do you have a lot of scripts just flying at you after “Superbad”?

A: No, I mean I have a few but most of them are shitty. The best thing about being 19 is I don’t have a family to feed or a mortgage to pay so I get to really take my time with picking movies. So, I feel like I am making good choices about that.

Q: Did you think “Superbad” was going to blow-up like it did?

A: I had no idea. It made about $120 million and I had no idea it would do that.
