Three students were arrested and charged with felonies during the week-long break.

Two freshmen were arrested Wednesday and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, possession of drug related objects and underage possession of alcohol after warrants were signed following a Nov. 21 incident.

According to a University police report:

An officer went to Mell Hall on Nov. 21 when someone complained about the smell of marijuana coming from the dorm of Beau J. Tepper and Daniel Scott Zagoria, both freshmen from Atlanta.

At the time, Tepper and Zagoria said they didn’t grant consent to search the room.

The officer obtained a warrant to search the dorm later that day. Arrest warrants were issued for the two Wednesday.

When searching, police found two bags of marijuana, two bags of suspected illicit mushrooms, four glass smoking pipes and numerous containers of alcohol. They also found a vodka bottle which had been converted into a smoking device, two types of weight scales and two small bags containing possible marijuana residue.

Efforts by The Red & Black to contact Tepper and Zagoria for comment Monday were unsuccessful.

In another incident, a student was arrested during the Georgia Tech football game and charged with felony obstruction of a law enforcement officer and simple battery at Sanford Stadium.

According to a University police report:

A Georgia Bureau of Investigation agent told Natalie Sue Kinker, a senior from Alpharetta, that she needed to leave the stadium when she reentered after being escorted out by police.

The report didn’t say why Kinker initially was asked to leave. Kinker refused to leave. When another agent attempted to escort her out, Kinker said “Don’t touch me b-,” and tried to hit the agent.

Kinker and the agent fell to the ground, and Kinker kicked the agent. Kinker attempted to run away but was stopped and escorted out by a University police officer.

Kinker tried to kick the officer and refused to put her hands behind her back. Kinker tried to run away again, and two officers placed her in handcuffs on the ground.

Kinker was reported as intoxicated and combative.

When reached Monday by The Red & Black, Kinker refused to comment.

CORRECTION: Due to an editing error in Tuesday’s Red & Black, “Students garner felonies during break” incorrectly identified what day the search and arrest warrants were issued. The search warrant was issued Nov. 21. The arrest warrant was issued Nov. 26.
