It’s a bigger deal than you might think.

Georgia offensive line coach Stacy Searels doesn’t usually speak to the media. But with most rules, there are exceptions, and signing day was the exception.

Even coach Mark Richt got a good laugh to see Searels’ availability.

“Even coach Searels will be available at the end of this press conference,” Richt said. “That’s something new.”

Richt added: “In fact, Dallas Lee was going to be here and he was going to be able to talk today. But we’ll wait until next spring for him.”

(For the record, Lee did show up late as he was returning from a signing he did at his high school).
