- Safe Space Training. UGA Safe Space is a campus-wide initiative offering a message of inclusion, acceptance and support to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in the University community. - 2009 Jack Davis Distinguished Visiting Artist Lecture: Sergio Aragonés, cartoonist. Aragones has won major awards in the field of cartooning, including the National Cartoonists Society’s Reuben Award and the Will Eisner Hall of Fame Award. The intent of the Jack Davis Distinguished Visiting Artist program is to honor Davis and his contributions to popular culture, and to bring outstanding professional illustrators who share in this tradition to the University campus for a public lecture and creative exchanges with students and faculty. 5:30 p.m. Lamar Dodd School of Art. - Double Bass Symposium: Arco Chamber Orchestra. Performing Grieg and tangos by Piazzola as well as F. Petracchi’s Valse Oublie for the double Bass and Orchestra. The concert also will include Grand Duo Concertante by Giovannin Bottesini for the Double Bass and Violin.
