No preseason top-ranking for the Georgia football team this year, but a solid ranking nonetheless.

The Bulldogs start the season ranked No. 13 in the USA Today coaches’ poll, which was released Friday morning. Coming off a 10-3 season that saw them finish 10th in the poll last year, the Bulldogs open their season in less than a month against 11th-ranked Oklahoma State.

Defending champion Florida opens the season at No. 1, followed by Texas, Oklahoma, Southern California and Alabama. Five teams from the Southeastern Conference are ranked in the top 13, as LSU (9th) and Ole Miss (10th) join the other three. South Carolina, Kentucky, Auburn, Arkansas and Tennessee all received votes.

Georgia was ranked No. 13 in the 2007 preseason, a year which they finished No. 3 in the coaches poll and No. 2 in the Associated Press poll.
