THE WEEK: Athens events May 13-19

By on May 13, 2010

Pick of the Week
Who: Loretta Lynn, Clay Leverett
Where: The Classic Center
When: 7:30 p.m.
Price: $32–$42
The verdict: The legendary country singer, who has more than 70 albums to her name (during her more than 70-years on Earth), comes to the Classic Center to share her years of music. Lynn gained added prominence among the younger set with her 2004 release Van Lear Rose, which she collaborated with Jack White of The White Stripes. From here, Lynn will go on to play the Lilith Fair this summer. Clay Leverett is opening for Lynn, and he will play later at the 40 Watt Club at their Loretta Lynn After Party (maybe she’ll show up?)
