Diamond Dog pitching coach fired
Georgia Bulldogs baseball pitching coach Brady Wiederhold was released from his duties Monday following a season which saw Diamond Dog pitchers set a school record for highest earned run average in school history.
“I appreciate everything Brady has done for us and his contributions to the program the past four years,” Georgia baseball coach David Perno said in a statement.
Perno will take over as pitching coach in addition to his head coaching duties.
Diamond Dog hurlers produced an ERA of 8.51 last season, which ranked 276th out of 292 Division I schools, giving up 478 runs in 53 games. Georgia finished the season with a 16-37 record, 5-23 in the Southeastern Conference.
Wiederhold coached at LSU for four seasons before joining the Bulldogs.
