HOOVER, Ala. — The supposed parity in the SEC East was non-existent in the media voting, as Florida received more than 85 percent of the votes (153 of 177) to top the East for the third year in a row.

Georgia received 15 votes, followed by South Carolina (8) and oddly, Vanderbilt with one. Perhaps interim head coach Robbie Caldwell was that persuasive.

Defending BCS and SEC champion Alabama garned 143 of 177 votes t win the conference for the second straight year.

A couple of interesting tidbits: Georgia only finished one point ahead of the Gamecocks for second — the closest margin since 1992 — and Kentucky finished fourth, ahead of Tennessee.

Also, a record 177 ballots were turned in, besting the previous high of 104 from 2006. You can view the full ballot here.

The Dogs had six players selected for all-conference awards, wide receiver A.J. Green, offensive lineman Clint Boling, punter Drew Butler and kicker Blair Walsh on the first team, and defensive back Brandon Boykin and linebacker Justin Houston on the second team.

The coaches vote saw the same four Dogs on the first team, but none on the second team.
