By on August 2, 2010

The University of Georgia is No. 1 – just not in a ranking University administrators like to see.

The Princeton Review, an organization that  ranks colleges and universities nationwide on 62 different lists, has ranked UGA as the Top Party School in the land. Georgia was ranked No. 4 last year behind Penn State, Florida and Ole Miss. Georgia, and No. 7 in 2008.

Georgia finished ahead of Ohio University (also in a town called Athens), Penn State, West Virginia and Ole Miss for the top 5 party schools.

UGA was ranked in several categories on the Princeton list, including second in lots of hard liquor (usage reported high), seventh in lots of beer (usage reported high) and best campus food, ninth in best athletic facilities, major frat and sorority scene, students pack the stadiums, students study the least (report lowest number of study hours per day), 10th in jock schools and 20th in least accessible professors.

The University was also just one of 18 schools on the “Green Honor Roll,” which measures how environmentally sensitive colleges are. Harvard, Yale and Georgia Tech are on that list. UGA was also 7th on “best value” list of public colleges.
