drink up! Arrogant Bastard

By on November 8, 2010

This brutal-bitch-of-a-beer is brought to us by Stone Brewing Company, and for this we should get on all our knees and start praising.

First impressions when poured into a glass are that this brew is almost sexy — a beautiful red body with a nice off-white head.

The bottle comes with the tag line “You’re Not Worthy” and the damned truth is, some people are not.

Going into it, it should be known that this is a big beer, with an alcohol content of around 7.2 percent.

It features very strong aromas of hops, fruit and an unmistakably roasty smell that lets your tongue know it’s in for a wild ride.

Arrogant Bastard isn’t undeserving of its arrogance, because it packs a world of flavor into every sip — except it’s a world where delicious hops are shoved in your mouth and then punched down the back of your throat by the same Gargoyle on the beer’s logo.

Arrogant Bastard has been one of my standards since I started drinking craft beer, and I believe it to be one of the finest examples of an American craft beer: strong, unique, with little attention paid to tradition. It truly is game-changer for your palate.
