Student charged with disorderly conduct, barred from The Grill
A University student was charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct at 2:45 a.m. on Saturday.
Athens-Clarke County units were dispatched to The Grill where they were met by the manager who told them that a couple of females had been disorderly and that one struck him across the face.
Prior to the arrival of the police, Allison Poindexter, a University student, had thrown up outside the bathroom because the bathroom had been occupied. According to the police report, the manager then instructed Poindexter and her friend Jessica Ricketts, another University student, to leave.
Ricketts, 24, reportedly argued with him and told him that she was going to eat her food before she left. The manager told her that she would not be served, but Ricketts replied “you don’t know who I am” and asked him if he wanted to be hit when he commanded her to leave the restaurant again.
The two students then entered the bathroom despite the manager’s instructions to leave the restaurant. After about 10 minutes the manager returned and asked them to leave. At that point, Ricketts reportedly slapped him across the face and then went to sit down at a table.
The manager then called 911. When police arrived the manager then proceeded to bar both students from the restaurant for the next two years. Both students said that they understood.
According to the document, the officer first spoke to Ricketts who first asked if he knew a police officer friend of hers when she asked if she had consumed alcohol earlier. She later admitted to having consumed alcohol and registered positive for breath alcohol on the Alco-sensor (.153).

The officer noted that Poindexter had the odor of alcoholic beverage on her breath and had “red, glassy eyes”. Ricketts was arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct and transported to the Athens-Clarke County jail.
