The Final Countdown: Georgia Theatre makes its return
It has been two years since the historic Georgia Theatre went up in flames on a fateful June morning.
After the fire did its damage, a community was brought together to make sure that one day, people would once again be able to seek joy in the landmark on the corner of Lumpkin and Clayton. That day will finally be upon us on Aug. 1.
In the coming weeks, the Red & Black will be providing interviews, photos of the building, features and more on this grand establishment and it’s reopening.
Though it was a fire that nearly brought the building down, it is the fire inside of the people which will keep the Georgia Theatre standing strong for years to come.
