& Art Review: Lamar Dodd Open House
Last night, the Dodd opened its doors to let students and townies alike take a look at the incredible work being created daily at UGA’s art school. The open house featured a mixture of interactive installments, such as a DIY bling table, an enormous game with neon strings and a life-size twister board that was used more for pictures than play. Each level of Lamar Dodd hosted the work of various departments, such as printmaking, painting, scientific illustration, etc. and offered a demo, operated by a student, to show a glimpse at the process behind each of these pieces. For instance, in the relief printing room, we were able to see how the design is first etched into a wood cut and then inked and fed through the press to create the final print.
