Read Knowshon's paper, it's pretty funny.

It's past time for the university to take strong action, particularly against athletes who are getting a free ride in college because of their athletic prowess and seem to have a disregard for rules. Once they accept that scholarship and put on the uniform of the Georgia Bulldogs they represent the university to the world and should act accordingly. I'm all for second chances but when they continue to disregard what they know to be acceptable behavior, it is time to return them to their parents. They are living out the dreams of others who might act and behave better. Alcohol seems to be a driving factor for many of these incidents and some never seem to learn from the failings of others. College is about educating people in various ways; if they don't learn academically, they are not allowed to continue - the same should apply if their behavior continues to reflect someone who cannot control himself. AT least two relatively high profile athletes over the past two years have succumbed to alcohol induced unconsciousness in a public setting and recently a student at nearby Gainesville state College has been charged with vehicular homicide while intoxicated. If you want to be a Bulldog you must behave like a Bulldog and i mean that in the best sense of the word. Follow the example of your coach, don't continually give him grief.

Hey Coastal,
I'd say these guys are acting an awful lot like most other Bulldogs their age. They certainly aren't doing anything I don't see about every single day in my dorm. By what I would say is a large majority of the residents. Good grief, at least 4 guys on this hall alone have found themselves in an alcohol related state of non-consciousness in a year.

Stop being a double standard hypocritic.

Hazydawg you made my point for me - thanks. The only problem with your equaling your dorm people to these athletes is that unless you and they ARE on some university team, then your alcoholic states might be confined to the dorm. Your parents or whomever is paying for your college experience will be the ones cheated, as will those of you who might eventually get yourselves tossed out. Be that as it may, just because your dorm is full of people who sometimes drink themselves into a stupor isn't any excuse for people who are getting a free ride and represent the university to the world to do so. I really don't get the double standard remark (hypocritic? need a remedial spelling class?)because I would say the same about any student who is taking a spot that a serious student would love to have at the university. It might be funny now but what if one of you finds himself in the same spot as the student from Gainesville State College who hit and killed the boy the other night and "didn't know it was a person he hit"? What then? As for "nobody cares" that might sadly be near the truth, again until some tragedy happens and then everyone will wonder what went wrong. And then there is the story in this same edition of the fraternity which strongly denied serving underage drinkers but now . . .

I understand the University is required to release this information upon request by FOIA, but couldn't they black out the "victim" name? This girl didn't want Moreno to know she was the one complaining about noise, and now the entire UGA fanbase and student body knows she is the one that complained about Moreno.
