Fraternity brothers' story differs from party guests

Abstract:
A University police report states alcohol could be obtained for those under the age of 21 and IDs were not always checked during a fraternity party last month where a Georgia College and State University student claimed she was raped.

The Athens Banner-Herald reported Saturday that Athens-Clarke police have yet to determine if the woman was sexually assaulted because the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's State Crime Lab hasn't completed its report....

I'll tell you one thing though, if this was a black fraternity, they would have been gone by now. The hearing would have been had, they would have found the black fraternity guilty of providing beer and whatnot to minors and them brothers would be gone from campus for at least a few years.

Who does this fraternity have in high places? Whose protecting them? Do they have an alum on the Regents or something?

This is typical. We have one little fight at a step show or other UGA sanctioned minority event and it makes news for weeks and people get in trouble. A white fraternity can set up a party, provide alcohol to minors, have a girl raped, lie about everything, and get away with it.

It just don't make no sense. No wonder quality minority students go to other colleges.

Seriously Ty? I am a minority but why does everything have to be a minority issue for some people? The sexual assault was not yet determined to have actually happened as of Saturday. Just being accused of rape can ruin a person's life. So all the facts should be looked at carefully. And a previous article on this matter said the fraternity faces sanctions in the future. So I don't see anyone getting away with anything yet. Why don't you read(and understand) the article before making a comment?

I'm in a black greek organization here and I don't even see what you're talking about. If I agreed with you, then I would say so, but I really don't see validity in your point. I have to call it as I see it. As far as disciplining and regulations go, we're not treated indifferently. I have not seen a black frat (or sorority) on this campus sanctioned for anything like that in the 3 years I've been here. And based on what's been written about these white orgs, we could of had our share of little "headlines" ourselves. So don't compare... this isn't a of inequality. Please save it for when there's really an issue we need to be concerned about.

"It just don't make no sense"?

What's the impetus for an inappropriate segue from a discussion about an alcohol-related alleged sexual assault to a rant about the plight of minorities on campus?

Due process is necessary here.

And?, I'll make this simple for you.

White frat gets underage girl drunk and rapes her---nothing happens

Black frat has fight break out when locals storm show---headlines for weeks on end, frat get punished heavily

That clearer for you, retard?

Nice ad hominem

Ty-
If you want to support your argument with fact rather than by attacking the other person, perhaps someone might listen (if they can get past your horrible grammar). First of all, as the article stated, the rape has not been confirmed. Not to say it definitely did not happen, but there are a number of instances where rape has been accused when it has not occured(e.g. Duke rape case)so it might be a good idea to wait for more information to surface before jumping to conclusions (Mike Nifong?).
By writing "white frat gets underage girl drunk and rapes her" you are not only stating as fact an event that has not necessarily ocurred, but you are also directly accusing individuals.
Perhaps the fight you mentioned should not have gotten the amount of press coverage it did, but there are many other factors in addition to racism to consider, for instance timing (end of semester) and lack of accurate information (R&B does not want to do as you have done here and state things as fact that have not been confirmed - this is called slander).
One more thing: "it just don't make no sense" might not be the best sentence to finish any argument with when you want to build credibility.

I think maybe we ought to consider what people are accused of, the severity of the accusations and the severity of the possible punishment. A fight and a rape are two very different things and dozens of people may have witnessed a fight making a large investigation unnecessary. What is the punishment for a fight? A fine? What is the punishment for rape? Being listed as a sex offender? I think you're talking about two very different things.

Ty is not a real person. He just trolls from forum to forum to get folks worked up. It is a sad life he lives in his mother's basement playing world of warcraft and eating cheetos while waiting for his newest adult video to download.
