SGA requests opinions of all

Abstract:
Creating change in a community of 34,959 students is no easy task, but it is the job of the Student Government Association to work every day towards the ideal university setting here in Athens. This past semester, SGA successfully advocated on behalf of students to achieve many significant improvements in campus life....

It seems to me that SGA doesn't respond to our wishes, though this sounds suspiciously like it's in response to an angry letter I wrote the other day that wasn't published. SGA is responding to the wishes of some vague interest, not ours. Almost every student I've talked to is opposed to a 24-hour SLC and believes SGA could be spending their time better, like lobbying for a change in ticket allocation policies, since the current, recently instituted system is fatally flawed. Meanwhile, we should demand SGA listen to our opinions and, if they don't, remember come election time and choose new leadership. On a related note, the Red & Black is nothing more than a tabloid with no journalistic standards that exists solely to serve SGA interests. It seems like they never print any differing opinions.

Ruckus has been available to students for quite some time, so I don't think that anything needs to be "launched"

Exactly my point! Here she goes again claiming credit for things she had nothing to do with. If I could get a letter published in this loony newspaper, maybe more people would see the light. SGA is deluding the student body into believing that they're effective. If I was SGA President, I swear that I would listen to my constituents and try my best to meet the requests of all. After all, most issues aren't contentious (on campus issues, that is), and the vast majority of people feel one way or another about them. Why doesn't she listen to the voters? Why can't the government lobby for what the student body wants? Should I run for President?
