Station embraces ad-free format

Abstract:
As you begin your daily commute to class, you tune in to your favorite radio station. You hold your breath for the next song, and the announcer cues a 10-minute commercial break. By the time the music returns, your ride is over.

Sick of this scenario? Tune in to WPPP 100....

Great job on this story, although Jon Bird spells his name this way instead of with a h.

Great job with the story on Hot 100.7, but nontraditional UGA student Jon Bird spells his name this way and not with an "h."

This is true, I don't have an "H" in my name, but that's okay. I see it was changed on the web.

Thanks Red & Black! :)

But how do they STAY on the air? Where's the money coming from to renew the license, pay royalty fees, etc?

I have wondered that a lot. No one claims to know. Kind of like no one really knew what the Phoenix Foundation did in Knight Rider. I'm still not sure either, but Kitt was a really cool Trans Am.

Through their own blood, sweat and tears and a few benefits and sponsors and donations and the owner's dedication and pockets
