Two football players add to team's legal woes

Abstract:
The headaches keep piling up for the University football team, as two more players found themselves in legal trouble this week.

If players keep getting themselves into trouble Coach Rich will be forced to appeal to fans to fill the roster on opening day. I believe that he attempts to sign recruits and allow others to join the team who are of good moral character. If Tripp Taylor WAS involved in such an incident , then shame on him. The other player, who has been DISMISSED from the Murray State football team, has been charged with a felony - what a way to start life, especially when you've been handed a somewhat charmed life on a silver platter. The Caleb King incident however doesn't even sound as if a crime was committed, merely a traffic violation. If he was driving a moped under a certain size, then no license is required so he couldn't be charged with driving on a suspended license. There are football players in our state and in other states who would give ANYTHING to have the opportunity which has been afforded these players. If they can't behave, then be gracious enough to give your spot to someone who can. Michael Vick should have learned that lesson long ago but he kept getting "second chances" until they've now run out. Setting the pattern for your life is a part of being a member of the UGA football team, in fact in being a member of the university academic classes. I'm sure the parents of these young men must be wondering what went wrong. Ian Smith is on at least his second chance and if press releases are correct he obviously has or had a problem with alcohol. Getting a reign on that is more important than all the games he will ever enter as a player, especially because he is still in or has just left his teen years. Come on guys, there's more to being a football player than showing up for practice and being in the game. It carries with it responsibilities beyond the field, right on into your lives. Get Coach Richt off the hook. Behave.

Coastal..get your facts straight. You HAVE to have a license to drive a moped/scooter. You have to have a valid license of some kind. You just cant go driving around without a license. Period. So..he was arrested on a correct charge.

i agree that the caleb king thing is a very minor traffic violation. however, you DO need to have a valid driver's license to operate a scooter that size. you do NOT need to have a motorcycle license. i can see how that might be a little confusing. moral of the story, mr. king is a prime candidate for a second chance. hell, he didn't even really ruin his first chance. he was driving a scooter on campus and went the wrong way. big deal!

Caleb King had a SUSPENDED license, which shows that he has a history of numerous and/or serious infractions. Had his license not been suspended, he would have simply been given a ticket at most or a warning and been sent on his way and this would not have even been "news".

As for motorcycle licenses, 49cc and below does not require a motorcycle license, but some form or license or permit is required. Anything 50cc and above is classified as a motorcycle and must have a tag and insurance and the rider must have a motorcycle license.

"nobody important" must work for the Department of Redundancy Department. I'm pretty sure that's what I already said.

The bottom line here is that the police pulled over Caleb for a DWB-Driving While Black (or mopeding in this case).

If it would have been a Chi Phi whitey, he would have walked away with no charges.

Maybe you should go over to the UGA PD and take a look at their arrest statistics (be sure to take someone along to explain them to you), and you will see just how full of it you are.

Ty, get your head out of your ass. I am not familiar with any Chi Phi's who have "walked away" without facing charges. The fraternity and those that have been arrested in the past have faced disciplinary sanctions whether from the University or our legal system. It is never hard to miss the latest developments of Chi Phi and its members, as they always make front page news in The Red and Black. So next time do a little research before you make an over generalized, ignorant, and yes...dumbass comment. By the way Ty, unless you were the arresting officer it would be nice to know how you know how Mr. King was arrested "for a DWB-Driving While Black (or mopeding in this case)". Douchebag.

aunt jemima, I mean, Juanita...I know that UGA pigs have nothing better to do than pull over a young black man on a Moped b/c the UGA cops are racist and playa-hatars.

Now, go eat a pancake and shut your fat fried-chicken eating mouth up crack ho.

Thank you, Ty. You just proved every point I was trying to make. Now everyone who reads these comments will have a riot laughing because you have shown yourself to be a stupid, ignorant, racist, mindless, pathetic, imbecile. Have a great day ass clown!

Actually Juanita, your vile posts laced with profanity and insults have shown you to be the one that is of a lower class.

"Ty" is nothing more than a troll character. Ty posts something on the R&B to see what kind of suckers don't have the smallest speck of willpower to kept themselves from responding. You are one of those suckers Juanita. You have zero willpower and are a weak person.

Any sensible person would realize that no one would actually get on the R&B and espouse such drivel that actually means it. Other than Frank J that is. Oh, and you. Congrats, you've joined the ranks of an infamous R&B poster and shown that you're in the same class with a guy that basically hates everyone.

Juanita, you should take this opportunity to change who you are currently. Take this chance to stop being weak. Don't respond. Just walk away, realize that I got you good, and resolve to yourself to never post such an insane attack in a public forum again lest you come off as you did this time as a world class idiot.

I got you Juanita. You are a sucker. Now, try to change for the better.

Uh oh! I am posting again because I have little will power. Sorry Ty, but that won't work. You simply say that so if I don't respond you've got me. Well I did not post anything because I want to win or get someone. Why would you go online and post absurd comments and then see who responds? How ridiculous! Ty is a troll character? That is so terribly lame. Congrats to you, as well...you to have joined the ranks of Frank J. Have a good one! The point at issue is, Caleb King was wrong not because of any other reason than the fact that he broke the law.

Tripp Taylor is nothing but a fat, pathetic, ugly, slow, sorry excuse for a human being. His only saving grace is that unbelievably cool "chinstrap" beard he's got going. He needs to be kicked off of the team and kicked out of school. Athens doesn't need a person like that running around without parental supervision. In his mugshot, it looks like he thinks he's a hard ass - on the contrary, it took approximately 10 people and a baseball bat to beat up two teenagers. Go Dawgs!

If Taylor is proven to have been involved in the urinating incident, he should be kicked off of the team indefinitely.

What a sorry excuse for a human being -- probably just the rage from years of steroid use.

Georgia football players should be leaders and stand-out human beings, not thugs and punk ass bitches.

The people that found it necessary to hunt down a couple of dudes in a park and hassle them should rethink their childhood upbringing and question their own feeble and disrespectful antics.

All these people are really doing is building up memories that they will later regret, and the irony is that karma will be the ultimate decider of justice, and things will crumble in their lives when they least expect it.

I think we should put the suspects in one of Vick's dog arenas and let them fight it out to the death, so that our free society can be rid of one more of the vermin that make it a republic and not a free democracy.

Punk ass bitches.

Charles R, ywhy are you always on my jock.

You're like a black man on welfare.

You try to stay away from me, but you just can't. You keep coming back.

You're just another victim.

Try to stay away? Come back?

O, my love, I never left you.

If falling this hard makes me a victim, I don't ever want to get better.

Speaking of getting better, school's about to get back into things. If you plan on trolling for more victims, why not play more subtle early on? Getting too absurd too quick is just going to burn out the humor, if that's what you're in it for.

But what should I care?
