Thank you editors of the Red and Black for continuing to follow this very important story of possible corruption in basic research at UGa, involving the public health.
Obviously since UGA has virtually unlimited legal funds to drag this lawsuit on forever, forcibly provided by the Georgia Taxpayers without their consent, it is understandable they would flaunt the Federal Judge's ruling that they participate in the less costly and quicker process of arbitrartion. This is also a way of pressuring the other side with financial tyranny since the other side obviously does not have unlimited funds, forced from taxpayers, to carry on this lawsuit. Every citizen should demand that these individual professors charged with these horrible crimes and violations of the scientific method, should be forced to provide their own legal defense at their own expense and not just sit back while the state lawyers seek to use every legal ruse to get them off the hook, so the issues of the case are never discussed.
How many of you brainwashed supporters of UGA want to consume food that might have a little "drano" or "mercury" or possible aids viruses in it? Dr. Lewis has demonstrated great courage in challenging these individuals. If they are right, why do they continue all this obstruction in order to avoid discussion of the scientific issues? What do they fear from a scientific discussion? Delay, is obviously all they are interested in.
All this is consistent with the totally improper way UGA has sought to fool citizens and students alike about the failed War on Cancer. A number of years ago I simply asked them to provide all participants of the annual Relay for LIfe, the fundraising activity of the American Cancer Society, a copy of the paper "American Cancer Society America's Wealthiest 'NOn-Profit' Institution" by Samuel S. Epstein, M.D., International JOurnal of Health Services, 1999. They refused and even refused to invite professor Epstein to the campus to present the truth about all this. Those running UGA misuse their power to fool a gullible and unwitting public about cancer. If they do this about cancer they would do it about sludge spread on farm lands wouldn't they? All they care about is a single five letter word MONEY.
Truth and knowledge and understanding have nothing to do with it. There is absolutely no reason in the world this case should have dragged on this long, other than to delay the truth, hopefully forever from their point of view. Justice delayed is justice denied. If anyone believes the truth about the facts in this case will ever come out in a federal courtroom, just read the book "IBM and the Corruption of JUstice in America" by Earl Carey, Bismarck HOuse, 1992. Mr. Carey lists 42 federal judges by name and location in this book who violated the very rules they were "sworn" to uphold, with impunity. The reprehensible efforts of UGA and its high paid lawyers, paid by us lowly taxpayers against our will and without our consent, is obviously nothing more than a sham effort to prevent the truth from ever being told. This is your University of Georgia today, 2008 continuing to violate its own motto. By the way, all Mr. Carey, a former engineer, wanted, was a simple jury trial on the issues of his labor dispute with IBM in the state of Arizona!
