Officials remind tailgaters of policy

Abstract:
For football fans, an illegal procedure won't just result in a five-yard penalty, it could land them with a hefty fine or a night in jail.

I was under the assumption that on gamedays open containers are allowed anywhere on campus, correct?

No, it's still against the law, they most often just turn a blind eye to it because it would be nearly impossible to enforce.

It must be enforced on Georgia fans and students only because all day Saturday at the game I saw the same police officers let South Carolina students and fans pass with visible open containers, only to stop the Georgia students and fans. It's no wonder the students have little respect for the Athens Police Department. If it's enforced on one it should be enforced on all.

I don't know when you last verified this information but last weekend we were turned away at the Main Library and not allowed inside to use the restrooms. Please check the accuracy of this information and if it is indeed true, I would like a comment from the Administration on why they won't let us in!
