Abstract:
Editor's note: The Red & Black recently sat down with Tim Cearley, director of ticket operations for the University Athletic Association, to discuss details surrounding the new student ticketing system for football games. With the new system, home-game tickets will be electronically loaded onto students' UGA identification cards rather than issued in paper form....

I think this system will be more effective if run efficiently. However, why don't students who donate their tickets simply get reimbursed 8 dollars? The student section would always be at least 95% full if that were the case. But with students having no incentive other than donating them to the donation bank out of good will for students who do not have tickets, I'm afraid many students who can't attend a particular game won't donate them out of laziness, causing a much less full section for some of the less appealing games.

You're nuts if you think the student section wont be full. For many, many, years before you or I were at UGA, the student section has been overly-full. This year will be no different.
These tickets are exactly what UGA needed. Now students, regardless of hours at UGA, get to sit where they deserve to sit and with their friends. I was sick of Fratty McJunior and his fun date girl taking up seats to a game where they dont even know 10 players on the field. Now deserving students who care about both the game and the players in general can come early and get the seats they deserve.
