The "election" last Tuesday was nothing but a sham election and all citizens should demand it be repealed and done again. For example, about 3,406 registered Republican voters of Athens voted in the contest between Broun and Fleming. About 4,956 voters voted in the Democratic Race for Chief Magistrate Judge. But all of the 3,406 voters who voted in the Republican Primary were forcibly prevented from voting for the "Democratic" Magistrate judge. What kind of "representative" government is this? Shouldn't we now have a separate Republican Magistrate's Court to represent all thos 3,406 Republicans who were disenfranchised and prevented from voting for the Magistrate judge? Evidently the new Chief Magistrate is only expected to represent Democrats, not Republicans since the Republicans were prevented from voting in the election. Furthermore, the election results were determined by a tiny minority of the total number of registered voters of about 48,449 in Athens.
None of the candidates were "elected" by a majority of the registered voters, but a tiny minority of them. This is a sham election differing little from the former Soviet Union or Nazi, Germany decades ago. It must be declared illegal by a federal court and the so called U.S. department of Justice.
It was a meaningless sham election violating the most basic principles of democracy this country was founded on. Shame, shame, shame on those lawmakers who wrote the sham voting law in Georgia, and shame on the courts that enforce these sham laws which promote minority, elitist rule in the place of true majority rule of the majority of the registered voters. Thousands of registered voters who chose abstention have been totally prejudically disenfranchised in favor of the elitist minority who voted "for" or "against", while 3,406 registered voters were totally prevented from voting for the Magistrate's court judge which might have to hear the cases of Republicans too! AThens citizens obviously love to be fooled. NOtice how silent "professor" Bullock is about these vital issues. Why don't you ask him some important questions for a change, rather than the trivials ones asked? Let's stop hearing his meaningless opinion about trivial issues.
