Georgia coaching trio leaves for Oklahoma

Abstract:
Life will soon be different for Ryan Hybl.

Born and raised in Georgia, Hybl came to the University on a golf scholarship in 2000 and was one of the most decorated players in Bulldog golfing history before becoming an assistant coach in 2005.

What does the University of Oklahoma have that UGA doesn't give its coaches? Tornadoes, but that wouldn't seem to be a drawing card. The Hybls were reared in south Georgia and I know that Nate left so that he could get some playing time in football, but what about his brother? What's so attractive there that three UGA coaches leave, at least one of them leaving "home" in a sense? It's time for our athletic director to see what he needs to do to keep quality people. I wish all of them well.

There's this thing called advancing your career as a head coach. Neither of these three were going to become a head coach at Georgia anytime soon. Manny Diaz isn't going anywhere anytime soon and when he does it will be Will Glenn's turn. Kelly Hester is doing a great job for women's golf and Chris Haack has men's golf contending for NCAA championships.

It's a selfish viewpoint to think these three should just stay at Georgia because it's Georgia. They need to think for what's best for themselves in their career, including making more money which everyone wants to do.
