MUNSON RETIRES: Voice of the Bulldogs done (w/audio)

Abstract:
The football season is only four weeks old, and already Georgia has lost its second gridiron legend of the year. First, Uga VI passed away and now, in his 43rd season as the legendary radio voice of the Georgia Bulldogs, Larry Munson has walked away. Beginning last season, Munson only called home games, a clear indication that the legend's time in the booth was nearing its end, but no one thought that it would be this soon....

As George Harrison once said, all things must pass. It's hard to imagine Georgia football without him. Someone above me said it best; here's to you Larry...

Let's make sure Larry's well represented at College GameDay on ESPN. Let's have some signs there commemorating all he's done for us. I wish the best for you, Larry Munson.

We, members of the Bulldawg Nation, thank Larry for his dedication and contagious enthusiasm as he broadcasted the play-by-play happenings on the playing field !!!! Those of us not fortunate enough to have tickets to a particular game felt as though we were not "left out" thanks to Larry's unique ability to describe happenings on the field. His voice escalated to a fervent pitch as the rapidity of his verbal output increased ... we love and respect this great member of the Bulldawg nation !!!
He is an icon who will never be replaced !!! Thanks, Larry, for sharing your unique broadcasting skills !!
A very Happy Birthday to you !! And, to repeat the words of a great song.. thanks for the memories !!
