Cheers for Jon! I know very well the tremendous effort it takes to recover from stroke. When I was 13, my father suffered a massive stroke and lost all his speech. 9 years later, I discovered a way to help him recover his speech and went on to create a web site with programs to help stroke and speech recovery. There is still a tremendous need for helpful resources to ensure an early and effective response to stroke. Families most often do not know what they can do. We are trying to fill this gap with an organization that provides resources to families. Our award-winning educational materials and at-home speech therapy programs are written for families and speech therapists alike. Our information covers many aspects from how to help in the hospital to working with the stroke survivor at home, bringing everyone together in a coordinated effort. New brain research and strategies make speech recovery breakthroughs. Please visit the website and get free information and guides: http://www.strokefamily.org I know that one day Jon will get that Special Education degree and that he will be especially good at it!
