Go Dogs! Now move your car. Love, Parking

Abstract:
Dear Student, It's that time of year again! Football! Go Dogs! Hey, University of Georgia Parking Services Department here. As you probably couldn't ignore, the University's holding another home game this weekend. And that means yet another annoying e-mail or two from us....

I'm confused...what does the "average" person consider to be the solution to the problem? Where should the 93,000 people who attend the games park?

Looks like you need some friends, buddday. Football take priority over some freshman's parking spot. Get over it. They let you write this pointless piece of literature?

I think this article makes a good point. We pay a good amount of money for our parking spots and they're sold a SECOND TIME to tailgaters.
I think a good solution would be to make the parking decks off limits. Residents are forced to either park their car over on West Campus or in open parking spots over the weekend. We should have priority in the parking decks. Let the tailgaters - who are on campus for one day - have the open lots.
I understand that those parking lots are not as "close to the action" and the tailgaters would - God forbid - have to walk a further distance, but big deal. They'll get over it.

I just wanted to say that even though I usually hate the pointless, blabbering columns that are on the right side of the page of the Red and Black where your column was...

I liked yours a lot. I love the Georgia football, but that doesn't mean I think it's fine that students are kicked out of their parking spots on game days. It wasn't too big of a problem for me my first year (NOTE TO FRESHMAN: Move your car to Morris hall lot. It will piss off the smoking hippies outside.) But I still don't think it's fair to students, who are stuck living on campus for that year anyway.

Anyway, good column. It was funny and true, 2 qualities that are often missing from Red and Black opinion pieces.

Sad but true. On this campus, football is king. Or more specifically, the revenue brought in by football operations is king. I've often thought it was unbelievable that fee-paying students who have rightfully purchased those spots are forced to move so the University can make more money.

I guarantee Michael Adams isn't moving his car so some jackass with a 12-pack can set up his grill there.

Eh, no big deal. You move your car a few days during Fall semester. Get over it.
