On the same night the Student Government Association's officers were sworn in, senators nominated and approved the body's new treasurer.

Katy Bowers, former SGA president, and Sara Andrzejewski, former vice president, led the inauguration.

Bowers swore in Connor McCarthy as SGA president Tuesday night.

"This has been an incredibly fulfilling, rewarding experience," McCarthy said to the senators. "I'm excited for all of us as a team."

McCarthy swore in Nicki Batelli as vice president.

McCarthy and Batelli ran on the Office Party ticket. While campaigning, the party promised improved communication between students and SGA.

After her swearing-in ceremony, Batelli called an emergency Senate meeting to nominate a candidate to serve as the new treasurer. Keri McCrary was elected treasurer but resigned Feb. 20.

Eric Tonn, Terry College senator, nominated Megan Buzzard, who was unanimously confirmed by the Senate and later sworn in by Batelli.

Bowers gave her final remarks.

"It's been an amazing year," she said. "Students appreciate [all that you do], they just don't know who to thank. We appreciate it."

The new senators ratified the results of the election, including constitutional amendments.
