No tail lights, a moped and a beer made for a bad combination for a University student arrested Thursday.

Jonathan Daniel Arnold was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police pulled him over. After being searched, police later charged him with possession of cocaine, Oxycontin, medicine not in its original container, open container and no tail lights, according to an Athens-Clarke County police report.

Arnold was on his moped when an officer noticed he had no tail lights and stopped him at the intersection of Prince and Milledge Avenues.

The officer detected the smell of alcohol, according to the police report. The officer wrote Arnold had impaired speech and was "off balance."

Arnold told police he had one beer, the report states.

Arnold had difficulties performing sobriety tests and tested positive for a .09 blood alcohol content. He refused a blood test and was transported to Clarke County Jail.

Upon searching Arnold, police found cocaine in a bottle, seven Lunesta sleeping pills and one green pill, identified as Oxycontin.
