Waiting for UGA VII
Although we will always remember what a great mascot UGA VI was, it is time for the Bulldog Nation to rally behind a new figurehead. With the team facing a tough schedule and high hopes for the next season, both fans and the team will look at UGA VII for support and motivation.
Rock the vote
With a national election coming up this fall, it will be a prime season to get involved in politics. College is a good time to get politically active and learn about different views on the issues. The various political student groups on campus are a great place to get started, and you may discover a world of fascination you'd never known before.
Get your tickets
With only a 24-hour time period to register for football tickets, every student at the University needs to put Wednesday, Aug. 20 on their calendars. Also, in light of the annual ticket shortage complaints, don't both applying if you don't plan on attending the games or cheering loudly.
Avoid that Freshman 15
One great part of life at UGA is the meal plan, which most freshmen use. Though the 24-hour food access is enjoyable at first, the road is fraught with peril. That famous freshman 15 is all too easy to gain, so be sure to balance your 3 a.m. Snelling breakfast trips with some daily calisthenics, such as opting to walk instead of taking the bus.
New Facebook = Myspace?
We love Facebook as much as the next editorial board and admit it has become a virtual necessity for many college students to survive, but the new design makes us cringe. It seems like the designers of the new Facebook forgot their rules of page layout.
