Univ. creates jobs to combat poverty

As Athens moves into the action stage of its two-year campaign against poverty, the University is trying combat two of the most serious problems associated with poverty - school dropouts and unemployment. It will be difficult to estimate the size of the incoming freshman class due to a struggling economy and increasing competition from universities in neighboring states, a top admissions official said Tuesday.
