Production Intern/Graphic Artist - (Download pdf application)
This is a student staff position requiring availability of 10-20 work
hours per week with a schedule running concurrent with UGA class schedule. The ideal
candidate should be interested in computer graphics, advertising design, newspaper
layout and industry-standard software.

Requirements:
- Registered UGA student.
- Minimum of 8 hours per week.
- Maximum of 25 hours per week.
- Knowledge of MacIntosh computers and layout software helpful.
- (No summer hours)
Responsibilities:
- All production staff must learn both advertising and editorial production as necessary.
- Designing of advertisements according to customer layouts in QuarkXPress, InDesign, Illustrator or Photoshop.
- Scanning in art, photos and halftones. Typesetting and
proofing.
- Ensuring that everything possible has been done to meet advertisers' needs and expectations.
- Building layout pages for the daily Red & Black paper.
- Combining editorial copy with advertising layouts to create final pages.
- Sending final pages via FTP to our printer.
- Content management and upload of the daily paper to The Red & Black's website.
- Any other duties that may aid the Production Manager.
