Ahoy there Matey. Canopy Studio presents an aerial show fit for trapeze, sword fighting and pirate lovers. Pirates of the Airrrr! consists of 13 company members, all of which either currently attend the University or are alumni. Audience members can look forward to an enormous custom-made pirate ship, a plank, high-in-the-air dance moves, an epic sword fight and a lot of pirate gear.
This weekend, the Institute for African American Studies will present a three-day symposium honoring the civil rights movement and what work is still being done in the area of civil rights and social issues. "[The symposium will] highlight civil rights activism in Georgia and across the United States," said Derrick Alridge, director of the Institute for African American Studies.
