PALM SPRINGS, Calif. - Georgia junior Cameron Ellis picked up two more wins in singles and one in doubles Saturday at the Duals in the Desert event. Ellis notched a pair of wins in singles and one in doubles with senior Naoko Ueshima. Ellis dispatched Linda Abu Mushrefova (Northwestern) 6-4,6-2 and then beat Lyndsay Kinstler (USC) 6-3,6-1.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The ninth-ranked Florida Gators defeated the Georgia volleyball team in three sets Friday evening in a Southeastern Conference Eastern Division match at the Stephen C. O'Connell center. Florida earned the victory with set scores of 25-16, 25-20 and 25-14 to improve to 19-3 overall and 13-2 in SEC play while Georgia drops to 14-11 overall and 5-9 in league action.
The Georgia Equestrian team took three of the four events to garner their fifth win of the season with a 14-6 decision over Fresno State. The No. 3 Bulldogs took a commanding 4-1 lead in Equitation over Fences to start the day. Sophomore Emma Lipman turned in the highest score of the afternoon with a 91, which helped her gain MVP honors on the event.
