State news coverage disappointing
Where has the coverage been for Cathy Cox? Last week there was limited coverage of the Young Democrat Convention - Cox was seemingly left out. The article did showcase one thumbnail image of Mark Taylor, who is rumored to be changing parties if elected. Therefore, Cox, it would seem would be receiving more recognition and support from state Democrats as well as her alma mater, the University.
Imagine how nice it would be to have one of the first southern female governors rather than being nationally ridiculed for low test scores and debating evolution.

Wire-tapping is legal
In a rallying cry to his comrades on the left, Dan Johnson did not show much knowledge about public policy in his letter to the editor Monday.
In his first paragraph alone, Johnson was able to sum up Hillary's entire 2008 presidential platform.
He assured us that we can not win the war on terror (a sentiment that I am sure our troops would love to hear).
He reminded us that our government is involved in illegal wire tapping. This claim came just days after five Federal Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) judges along with the author of the 1978 law came before the Senate Judiciary Committee and testified that the wire-tapping was legal.
Johnson truly reflected the Democratic Party's desperation when he played the Global Warming card, even though there is no empirical, unbiased evidence to support the theory.
I am only surprised that Johnson didn't rant about our nation's struggling economy or the civil rights injustice our illegal aliens are being subjected to.
Maybe he actually did the research to realize that our economy has been literally booming now for over two years and that our government not only has the right, but is also obligated to protect our borders and punish those who break the law (which is what illegals are doing).

The Key is not a very useful tool
If students really think they can use The Key to figure out what their teacher's grading style is like, they are under a misconception. It is well known that teaching assistants do most of the grading. It is likely that grading style changes every year because a new batch of T.A.'s are grading the class. Grades have little to do with the professor, especially in very large classes.

Thank you for revealing the identity of the man in the graveyard playing guitar on Friday's front page(Rock Until You Drop). I have been having a secret love affair with his presence since the beginning of the semester. There's a mysterious sexiness about this choice of location. He's playing to no one, yet anyone can hear him.
I regret that I am graduating in a month and never took a religion class. I suppose I can only hope he's heterosexual... and single.
