Three Bulldog athletes receive SEC honors

Knowshon Moreno, Carrie Patterson and Maria Taylor all garnered conference-wide honors Monday in their respective sports.

Moreno was named SEC Freshman of the Week for the second time in as many weeks. Moreno rushed for 196 yards and three touchdowns Saturday. Moreno is now third in the SEC in rushing yards.

Patterson and Taylor earned conference Offensive Player of the Week awards in soccer and volleyball, respectively.

Patterson's award comes after a two-goal, one-assist performance against then-No. 9 Tennessee.

Taylor charted a game-high 18 kills in helping Georgia sweep SEC West-leading Alabama Friday before another 13 kills Sunday against Mississippi State.


ESPN radio to air from Tate Center

ESPN radio host Colin Cowherd will be broadcasting Friday from the Tate Center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cowherd's national radio show, "The Herd", can be heard Monday through Friday on ESPN radio and local radio station AM 960 The Ref.


Kentucky game set to kick off at 12:30

Lincoln Financial Sports will televise Georgia's November 17 game against the Kentucky Wildcats. The game will be at Sanford Stadium and kick off at 12:30 p.m.


Injured players may return by Saturday

In addition to Thomas Brown possibly coming back, head coach Mark Richt also noted in his Sunday teleconference senior safety Kelin Johnson and Tony Wilson will return in Saturday's game against Auburn. Richt also stated that defensive tackle Kade Weston "has a good chance to play" against Auburn despite missing Monday's practice with an ankle injury. Safety Quintin Banks, who got injured in the last drive of the game against Troy, is listed as questionable with a knee injury.
