Adams' playoff plan tabled by NCAA
Issue date: 1/15/08 Section: Sports
The big splash University President Michael Adams made last week about a major college football playoff made barely a ripple at the NCAA Division I board of directors meeting Monday in Nashville, Tenn.
The board tabled the issue, deciding to let a task force studying issues over commercial use of student likenesses' expand its review to include the playoff issue.
The task force hasn't been named, and there's no timeline for a report.
Adams proposed an eight-team playoff using four BCS games.
