A wrap-up of the week's ups and downs

So much for second chances
Following his early Thursday morning underage possession charge, Billy Humphrey, the Dogs' second-leading scorer this season, was suspended for at least three games. This marks his second charge of the season, following his November felony possession of weapon on school property charge. Now, men's basketball's collective rap sheet reads longer than its streak of years without a postseason berth.
Get real
Considering the current federal administration, both Student Government Association parties' dismal platforms are no surprise. Why are politics so self-absorbed, and when will they notice that few outside of SGA care?
Gator plates
Florida fans who live in Georgia now can purchase Gators vanity license plates for their vehicles. We have another suggestion: If you want a Gator plate in Georgia, you should have to paint jean shorts on your car as well. Go Dogs!
Next stop: Miami
Head coach Mark Richt and the Bulldogs snagged Scout.com's No. 4 2008 recruiting class Wednesday. The 23 recruits, combined with 17 returning starters, should make for an exciting 2008 season. Not to get too ahead of ourselves, but we can't wait to start searching for Miami hotel rooms come December.
Redrawing the line
Sen. David Shafer and Rep. Harry Geisinger proposed Tuesday to move Georgia's border line a mile north, thus gaining a section of the Tennessee River to help the drought situation. After about 200 years of established state boundaries, do these legislators really think they have the authority to redefine state lines on a whim - much less to serve a selfish agenda? Maybe our next solution to the drought could move our border east, thus claiming the Atlantic Ocean as well.
Every dog has its day
Instead of being euthanized, the dogs that once belonged to former Falcons quarterback Michael Vick have moved West. While some thought it would be impossible to rehabilitate the animals, veterinarians already have seen signs of rehabilitation in the pit bulls taken to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah. Kudos for giving these dogs a second chance at life.

What's the matter with y'all? Georgia's border shouldn't be moved a mile north?
Without evening trying to be fair, it seems like Georgians would support their state against another state. (Continued…)
