Georgia 72, Arkansas 58
With its collective back against the wall in the Southeastern Conference standings, the No. 24 Lady Bulldogs snapped a three-game losing streak with a 72-58 win at Arkansas.
Thursday's contest was a battle of teams with negative momentum, as Georgia (17-6, 4-4 SEC) and Arkansas (17-6, 2-6) had each lost five of their last seven, respectively.
The Lady Bulldogs snapped out of their scoring woes led by 23 points from senior forward Tasha Humphrey and 11 from post-mate Angel Robinson.
The guard play was solid as well, with Angela Puleo and Ashley Houts tallying 12 points each and holding Arkansas' 3-point attack to just 3-19 on the night.
"I thought we came out and executed the plan defensively much better for the beginning,," head coach Andy Landers said. "We came out with a better sense of purpose and got off to a better start."
Georgia built a 34-21 halftime lead and did not look back coasting to an easy victory.
With the losing streak over, the Lady Bulldogs now can focus on challenges ahead.
The team travels to Baton Rouge for a showdown with No. 8 LSU (19-3, 8-0) Sunday at 2 p.m.
