The Georgia softball team (5-1) will travel to Miami to play in the Schutt Sports Invitational this weekend with a No. 21 ranking in the first poll of the season.
The Bulldogs will play five games total, facing No. 18-ranked Ohio State, Florida International, Providence and Illinois State.
The Bulldogs will keep the same lineup and game plan, which led to winning the Red and Black Showcase in Athens last weekend.
"It was very successful," said head coach Lu Harris-Champer. "We will continue to make little changes here and there during this week in practice and we will go from there."
Eight freshmen made their debut during the tournament with six starting.
The freshman class is led by Megan Wiggins, who is hitting .353, and Alisa Goler, who leads the team with nine RBIs.
Melissa Wood, posting a team-leading .444 batting average after the weekend, said the Bulldogs cannot look past any of its opponents this weekend.
"We must take it one game at a time," Wood said.
According to Harris-Champer, the team has only one goal to accomplish at the Invitational.
"We need to go out and try to become a Better team over the weekend."
