A wrap-up of the week's ups and downs

Harassment policy revision
University President Michael Adams' announcement to revise the Non-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment Policy was much needed, and we're glad the administration is taking a tougher stand. We hope the administration follows the timeline it set and will continue speaking out for the University community.
No hablamos español
The University Curriculum Committee may vote for a proposal to ditch the Spanish minor because of its high demand. We hope the University will provide students with the educational opportunities they clearly desire instead of discontinuing an area of great interest. As Spanish becomes an increasingly integral language for communication in the U.S., especially in the business world, we think the University should support any student aspiring to learn it.
Dance the night away
Do you enjoy dancing but constantly seek a floor without grungy strangers drunkenly hitting on you? Perhaps leave downtown behind for a night in the Memorial Hall Ballroom. The University Swing Club welcomes students, beginners and advanced alike to join them for lessons Monday at 8 p.m. - no experience or partner required.
Don't go phish
Some University students may have received a scam e-mail through their UGAMail accounts. We caution students to be careful to which e-mails they respond. Banks, credit cards and eBay will not e-mail you asking you to verify your log-in information. If you have any question in your mind who the e-mail may be from, you should contact the site's webmaster.
Skin those Gators
This weekend, the Gym Dogs will compete in the SEC gymnastics championship at the Gwinnett Arena. We wish them the best of luck in taking down those jean short-wearing Gators for the SEC title. They're gearing up to defend their national championship, and we look forward to seeing them compete here in Athens.
Bon voyage, Coach Richt
University head football coach Mark Richt will be traveling to the Middle East in May along with four other coaches to visit U.S. troops. We applaud Richt for the compassion he is sure to show our soldiers.
Quote of the week: "Congress is not really interested in people who don't vote, and there is no lobby for illegal downloaders. Honestly, you have a better shot with your crack ho."
- William Lee, journalism professor of media law, saying Congress will not loosen copyright laws in favor of illegal downloading
