Issue date: 4/2/08 Section: Sports
Georgia football fans will get their first look at the 2008 edition of the Bulldogs when the annual G-Day game is held in Sanford Stadium on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. The game will be televised live by CSS.
Proceeds from this year's game will go to the Interfaith Hospitality Network of Athens.
Georgia returns 45 lettermen and 19 of 26 starters from the Allstate Sugar Bowl. The Bulldogs finished with an 11-2 record in 2007, closing as one of the nation's hottest teams, and wound up ranked No. 2 in the final AP poll and third in the final USA Today Coaches Poll.
"I think 2007 was exciting for our fans and our players," head coach Mark Richt said. "I think we got a taste of just how close we might be toward getting that ultimate goal."
University students will be admitted free with their University ID cards. Cost of tickets is $5 for adults and $3 for non-University students and children.
