- UGA Relay For Life. Benefiting the American Cancer Society. Rock out to block out cancer! After a year of fundraising, Relay For Life will remember those lost to cancer, celebrate cancer survivors and fight back against the disease. - UGA Athens Twilight Jazz Festival. Sponsored by the Hugh Hodgson School of Music. A jazz festival offering clinics and master classes for instrumental and vocal bands from middle school to college and community levels. Bands will be featured on the Twilight Outdoor Stage and at the Melting Point. Joshua Redman headlines. Through Saturday, April 26. Performing Arts Center. - Multi-Disciplinary Symposium: Brazilian-Americans in Georgia and Beyond. Sponsored by the Latin American & Caribbean Studies Institute, the Office of Public Service and Outreach, the Department of Romance Languages, and Center for Latin American and Latino/a Studies at Georgia State University. A conference addressing the phenomenon of Brazilian immigration to the United States, with special focus on this community's significant presence in the state of Georgia. Topics to be discussed include culture, immigration, race, class and gender. Presentation by Jason Freeman, an assistant professor of music in the College of Architecture at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
